Firefighters Lifestyle Update and TAC-FORCE Pocket Knife Giveaway

Hey everyone! I really hope you all had a great Christmas and ate a bunch of food with the family. I also hope that you all are starting the year off right, with some great goals and a willingness to do whatever it takes to obtain those goals. In this post I will be telling you guys what’s in store for this new year with the blog, the app, and some of the projects I have been working on. I also have our very first giveaway that you will be able to hopefully win. I’ll describe how to put your name in for the prize on the bottom of the page.

The Blog

This past year has been a great one for me and my team and we owe it all to you, the readers. You have stood by for all my misspellings, grammatical errors, non-informative posts, and even the whole website being down for a day or two. I appreciate you bearing with me as this is all new to me.

I do have some plans this year for the blog though, some ideas I think you might all enjoy. It’s going to be a busy year so some of these ideas may not be implemented this year but I sure will try. This year (actually 2 weeks ago) we implemented our Firefighters Lifestyle Facebook page for aspiring firefighters where you can join and ask any firefighter related question and get a response from a community of firefighters and aspiring firefighters.

This year I plan to start adding videos to the blog. I have realized that videos are a great way to give out information and many people enjoy watching videos rather than reading a blog post. So (hopefully soon) Firefighters Lifestyle will have a Youtube page and integrate videos within the blog to help you guys out in the best way possible. I am taking requests on what type of videos you guys will like to see. I do have an idea of what to make videos about but I always accept a request from my readers.

This year I also want to integrate some of the jobs that I have on the Firefighter Jobs App into the blog so that you all can see some opened positions that are available in your area. The app is still currently free so make sure you download it now.

There are some other small things I have planned for the blog but it’s not fully thought out yet but I do plan to let you guys know when we do have a plan. Great things to come this year!

The App

I’m proud of the success the app has had so far. We currently have 1,284 jobs on the app in different states all throughout the US. For all who have downloaded the app I want to say thank you and hope you continue to enjoy the app. If you haven’t downloaded it yet you can download it HERE.

Firefighter Jobs App

Since the release of the app I’ve been getting different requests of what the users want to be integrated into the app. Some were quite extensive and other requests were very doable. I plan on putting some of the requests into the app and also fixing some bugs the app currently has, sorry about those.

Some plans I have for the app will be showing you some information about how to get a job and making it specific to the state you are currently living in. Another idea I want to integrate is a location based job model that shows you what firefighter jobs are available next to you. Lastly, I want the app to update you when jobs become available so you can apply immediately.

These updates might take a while since I am at the mercy of my developers but I’m sure they will be within the app sometime in this year.

The Ebook

The last big I idea I have for you guys is that we’re currently making an ebook about becoming a full-time firefighter. It’s still in the process of being developed and has a long way to go but I’m excited to tell you guys about it now. It will cover a variety of topics and have a lot of resources for you guys to use. I only have a couple of chapters done already but really excited about how the app is looking so far.

I won’t disclose too much information about the book now but just keep in mind that it’s coming and will be a great resource for anyone trying to become a firefighter. I will be selling the book on this site and Amazon. You will be kept in the loop on the progress of the book throughout the year.

Finally, The Giveaway

I will be giving away TAC-FORCE Red firefighter Spring Assisted Open LED Tactical Rescue Pocket Knife! It’s a cool little knife you can keep in your pockets or everyday use. You can view a video review of the Knife by clicking HERE.

The only thing you have to do to have a chance at getting the Pocket Knife is to go on the Firefighters Lifestyle Facebook Group and write a post on the Page. That’s all!!!

Make sure you include where you’re are from and if you are a firefighter, an aspiring firefighter, or your future careers goals. I will randomly select 2 individuals from the lists of posts we received to get the knife if I send you a message that you won I would just need an address to send the knife to. If you have already posted on the group then please just post again to be in the drawing.

I will be picking the winner on February 15th, 2017. Good luck to all of you!

Let us make this year a year to remember.
